This tournament is held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy on indoor hard courts called Acrylic on Wood, making it the only Masters 1000 tournament held indoors. In the final three days of the event, the centre court has a 14,502 seating capacity. The total prize money for 2012 is € 2,427,975 and this tournament was first held in 1986.
This tournament runs from Saturday 27 October to Sunday 4 November. The men’s singles qualifying event is being held on Saturday and Sunday October 27-28. The main draw singles event runs from Monday 29 October through to the Singles Final day on Sunday 4 November.
The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.3 seed Roger FEDERER who defeated No.6 seed Jo-Wilfried TSONGA in the final 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
