The Seeds: In a 128-player sized draw there are 32 seeded players in order to keep the 1 seed for each 4 spots in the draw ratio according to tournament draw rules. Indian Wells has a 96-player draw so the seeds all receive a BYE in the 1st round and await the 32 winners of the 1st round matches in the 2nd round.
The seeding of players is according to the most recent rankings before the main singles draw is made, which is Monday 21 March. This means the points earned at Indian Wells will be reflected in the seeding for Miami.
The Wild Cards: On Monday 7 March the five wild cards were awarded to-> 3 Americans James BLAKE, Ryan HARRISON and Jack SOCK, Canada’s Milos RAONIC and Australian Bernard TOMIC. Tommy ROBREDO who would have been seeded withdrew with an injury so Ivo KARLOVIC was awarded a wild card on the strength of his performance at Indian Wells last week.

Hi, One small correction (send Tues around3:30 pm Eastern time in N. America (same time zone as Miami) Raonic is now listed as the last direct acceptance into
the main draw. I guess with Robredo (or someone else) withdrawing, a spot opened up and his ranking is now high enough to nudge him into the draw on points !
Interesting symmetry. In the qualifying tournament the last direct acceptance was poor Frank Dancevic and in the main draw, it is Raonic. The only 2 Canadian men !
