US Open 2010 Women’s Singles Results

The 2010 US Open women’s main draw singles matches began on Monday 30 August at 11am local time in New York and will be completed over two days. We will keep you updated throughout the US Open and right here on this post at OCA we will by add the 1st round results and scores once the matches are completed. After which we will update the draw for the 2nd round.

There are 64 1st round matches with half of them being played on Monday and the second half i.e. a further 32 matches, scheduled for Tuesday to complete the 1st round.

Pictured above is 24 year old Katernya Bondarenko from the Ukraine preparing to play a forehand drive. The 1.75m Bondarenko made the quarter finals of the 2009 US Open in her best career result in a Grand Slam singles tournament before losing to Yanina Wickmayer.

This year the younger sister of No.29 seed Alona Bondarenko is up against another 2009 US Open quarter finalist, No.8 seed Li Na in the 1st round in a tough match up for both players. Katernya achieved a career high ranking of No.29 one month after the 2009 US Open and needs a big showing again this year to hold her spot in the Top 60.
