The 2013 Australian Open singles quarter finals on Day 10 set the No.1 and No.3 women plus the No.2 and No.3 men against lower ranked opponents the task of mastering the pressure of being hot favourites expected to win handily yet up against in form and tough opponents. In this post OnCourt Advantage lists the order of play for the tenth day of main draw singles matches (see below) to make it easier for you to know who plays whom and when.
On Day 10 the bottom half of the men’s draw featuring Roger Federer and Andy Murray who are seeded and favoured to set up a semi final showdown are up against Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who has spoiled Federer’s party in the past and Jeremy Chardy looking to add Murray to his Juan Martin del Potro scalp.
The top half of the women’s draw pits the more experienced and dual Grand Slam singles champion Svetlana Kuznetsova versus the defending champion and current World No.1 Victoria Azarenka and an all-American match between Serena Williams and 19-year-old Top 20 player Sloane Stephens (pictured above).
The letters in brackets after each player’s name is the prefix for the country that player represents. WTA denotes women’s matches and ATP denotes men’s matches.
