The 2013 Memphis Open is a joint men’s and women’s tournament that began in 1976 for the men and 2002 for the women. The men’s event is an ATP Tour 500 category tournament and the women’s event is a WTA International category tournament. The official name of the 2013 Memphis tournament is the US National Indoor Tennis Championships.

Memphis is being held at the Racquet Club of Memphis in Tennessee in the USA. The centre court holds 5,000 spectators with the court surface being Latex-ite indoor hard courts. The total prize money for this 2013 ATP event is $1,212,750 of which $291,800 will be awarded to the men’s singles champion. The total prize money for this 2013 WTA event is $235,000 of which $40,000 will be awarded to the women’s singles champion.

Memphis runs from the first day of the women’s qualifying on Saturday 16 February through to the Men’s Singles Final on Sunday 24 February. The 2012 Memphis Open women’s singles champion was the unseeded Sofia ARVIDSSON who defeated the No.4 seed Marina ERAKOVIC in the final 6-3 6-4. The 2012 men’s singles champion was the unseeded Jurgen MELZER who defeated the No.4 seed Milos RAONIC in the final 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).
