The 2012 Memphis Open is a joint men’s and women’s tournament. The men’s event is an ATP World Tour 500 category tournament and the official name of the 2012 event is Regions Morgan Keegan Championships due to title sponsorship naming rights. The women’s event is a WTA International category tournament and the official name of the 2012 event is the Memphis International.

The Memphis Open is held at the Racquet Club of Memphis in Tennessee in the USA on indoor hard courts. The centre court has a seating capacity of 5,000 and is called the Morgan Keegan Stadium Court. The total prize money for the 2012 women’s tournament is $220,000. The total financial commitment for the men’s tournament is $1,281,500 US dollars and the total prize money for the Men’s events is $1,155,000.
The men’s event is being held for the 38th time since beginning in 1975. The women’s event is being held for the 11th time this year after being first held in 2002.
This tournament runs from Friday 17 February to Sunday 26 February. The main draw singles event begin on different days, the women begin on Sunday 19 February and the men on Monday 20 February. The Women’s Singles Final day in Saturday 25 February and the Men’s Singles Final day is Sunday 26 February.
The 2011 Memphis Open women’s singles champion was the unseeded Magdalena RYBARIKOVA who defeated the No.6 seed Rebecca MARINO in the final 6-2, 0-0 before Marino retired injured. The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.2 seed Andy RODDICK who defeated the No.1 seed Milos RAONIC in the final 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (11-13), 7-5.
