Bucharest Open Tennis 2012

The 2012 Bucharest Open is the only ATP Tour tournament in Romania for the year and one of 41 ATP Tour 250 category tournaments in 2012.

The official name of Bucharest as of 2011 is the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in honour of Romania’s own Ilie Nastase and Ion Tiriac.

The 2012 tournament is being held at the BNR Tennis Arenas in Bucharest, Romania. The court surface is red clay, the centre court seats 4,800 people and this year is the 20th year of this event being held.

This tournament runs from Saturday 21 April to Sunday 29 April. The men’s singles qualifying event is being held on Saturday and Sunday April 21 and April 22. The main draw singles event runs from Monday 23 April through to the Men’s Singles Final day on Sunday 29 April. 

The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.2 seed Florian MAYER who defeated No.4 seed Pablo ANDUJAR in the final 6-3, 6-1 to win his first ATP Tour singles title.
